Artist and Super-Fan Sebastian Columbo is responsible for some of the most inspired and realistic Movie-influenced artwork I’ve ever seen. Using a technique of pencils with photoshop, his gallery features many more pieces based on Superman and other comic/movie characters and can be found here.
I contacted Sebas some years ago to congratulate him on his outstanding portfolio and ask why he has not been snapped up by the industry. We forged a friendship by email and he
was kind enough to give me some pieces of original signed artwork (shown above). Its always a joy to see new works arrive as it keeps Reeve’s Superman alive for me…

‘Quick Change..!’

Advertised in long-extinct UK publication Model & Collectors Mart and released by 5th Sense in the early 90’s – this sculpt by Lee Ames is notable for being the first ‘garage’ kit ever produced in the likeness of Christopher Reeve. The kit came in ivory resin and four parts (figure, raised leg, street base and Trilby hat) in a plain brown box with label featuring colour picture. Expensive at the time and produced in low numbers, these kits are extremely rare today…
