SuperSebas Returns…

The stunning image above represents the first offering in a creative partnership dedicated to celebrating the tenure of Christopher Reeve as the Man Of Steel. Noted costume makers Action Costumes have been supplying fans with the ultimate in Superman costumes for some years and are tentatively expanding their portfolio under the artistic direction of SuperFan Sebastian Columbo. Besides the upcoming prints (this being the first of hopefully many more to follow) the first of Seb’s projects is the sculpting of a 1:1 Superman figure which AC will present as a fully-costumed display piece in the new year. You can follow the progress of the bust and keep updated on AC’s other projects on their facebook page. SUPERMANIA wishes them well on their endeavors and looks forward to seeing the results..!

BRAVO Super-Collage – Concluded!

My modest Christmas gift to all you SUPERMANIAc’s out there are these two final parts of the oversize collage serialised in BRAVO magazine in 1979. Enjoy printing these parts, going back through the Blog history to get the rest and assembling it for yourself! And from the top, vintage BRAVO cover and Christopher Reeve article. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all the followers of the blog and wish you all a SUPER Christmas…!

Mild-Mannered Workwear…

SUPERMANIA is proud to present the splendid result of a personal project by SuperFan Alexei Lambley-Steel of christopherreeve.co.uk to perfectly replicate Clark Kent’s tie from Superman: The Movie. See the pics above for the obvious dedication to detail for this most complex of patterns and coolest of tributes. As Alexei wanted to offer a short run to fans he asked me to write a short promo;

“Any more at home like you…?”
“Ah…Not really, no…”

Presenting a very unique opportunity to own a replica of the necktie as worn by Christopher Reeve in his defining role as Clark Kent in 1978’s Superman: The Movie. Digitally reproduced using the highest-quality photographs, this fantastic vintage design in Silver, Black, Red and Blue is handmade in the UK from 100% woven silk with Polyester lining and 146cm long and is a fully wearable/displayable prop from the Classic Movie! Special offer price of £25 + shipping for a very limited one time run of 35!

And I’m pleased to report that the item in-hand is fantastic quality, not only a great prop but quite the fashionable wardrobe addition for the City Beat…

While the run is almost at an end, should you wish to purchase one of the last few remaining go here for more details – see you at the Planet office and don’t call me Chief…

Arnie Kim Strikes Again Updated…

Progress pics taken from Master Arnie Kim’s Facebook page reveal his personal 1/4 scale statue project is slowly coming to almost tangible life. In similar fashion to his 1/6 masterpiece for Hot Toys, the kiss-curl will presumably be a separate piece to be added later. Even at this early stage the paint tests show an incredible translucency of skin tone echoed by the subtle facial expression. As stated, for now this remains a personal project but with fan demand and Hot Toys recently announcing their new venture into the 1/4 scale market one wonders how long it will stay that way…
